“They each have a role to play in unlawful acts,” said Kombes Budi during a press conference at the Attorney General Suprapto Police Headquarters, Tuesday (31/1/23).

The five suspects in question are the initials AR (24), MF (24), NV (21), HC (29) and KA (22). “The evidence we have secured includes identical flags of the Anarcho group, stones, cans of spray paint, brown handkerchiefs with blood stains, three pieces of smoke bomb fragments, posters and other items,” concluded Kombes Budi.

To note, after being named as suspects, the 7 people were immediately detained at the Malang City Police Headquarters for further legal proceedings.

During the press conference, the Malang City Police Chief emphasized that the arrest of seven suspects in the vandalism and beating at the Arema FC office had nothing to do with the Kanjuruhan incident. “This is purely a criminal case against the destruction of Arema’s office and has nothing to do with the Kanjuruhan incident,” concluded the Chief of Police.
