After Alabama Crimson Tide men’s basketball coach Nate Oates vowed that Brandon Miller would no longer perform his controversial search ritual, it looks like the famous freshman has made some changes to his social media account.

Miller’s previous Twitter banner showed his pre-game ritual of dropping in during the show and being frisked by a teammate. Since it was revealed to be related to a shooting near campus involving former teammate Darius Miles and 20-year-old Michael “Buzz” Davis, this pre-game ritual is not well received by the public.

Now, Miller has changed his Twitter bio to a cartoon drawing of him wearing an Alabama jersey with “BLESSED” written on the front.

Fox News Digital sent several emails to Alabama, including one asking about the timing of Miller’s social media account change, but received no response.

Police identified Miller, 20, as carrying the Miles pistol used in the January murder of 23-year-old Jaimea John Harris.

Miller’s lawyer, Jim Standridge, noted that his client did not know he had a gun at the time, so Alabama was free to play. Standridge released a statement saying that Miller “never saw a gun” while driving to meet Miles and Davis.

“Brandon does not own a firearm and has never held one,” the statement said. “Moreover, he was not aware of any attempts to use any weapons.”

But because police testimony showed Miller’s involvement, Crimson Tide drew backlash from many who felt that Miller should not be allowed to dress up every night.

As for his pre-game ritual, it goes on all season, but that development doesn’t make it good.

“I think it goes on all year long. I really don’t know,” Oates said. “I don’t watch our performances, I don’t participate in them. During this time, I write plays. In any case, this is inappropriate, it has been decided, and I can assure you that this will definitely not happen again before the end of this year.”

In his first game since being named in a case that faces capital murder charges against Davis and Miles, Miller heard cries of “lock him up” coming from a opposing mob of South Carolina gamecocks. Miller ended up scoring a career-high 41 points, including the game-winning shot, for the Crimson Tide.

Miller, who is predicted to be selected in the top five in the 2023 NBA draft, is Alabama’s leading scorer as they look to secure a spot in the NCAA Tournament in the coming weeks.
