Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis joined One Nation with Brian Kilmead to discuss how exposure to left-wing ideology has shaped his political philosophy and outlook for 2024 on the baseball field in his hometown.
He spoke about his time on the Dunedin Little League team, which included a trip to the Little League World Series, before he became a four-year-old on the Yale Bulldogs baseball team.
Fox News host Brian Kilmead asked DeSantis about his experience at Yale.
“I have never been to New England in my life. I didn’t know anything about it. I didn’t know the colleges were liberal at the time, okay? You know, it was a historic institution. I thought, “Hey, I’m from Dunedin. If I can get my degree there, that will open doors for me.” Right?” DeSantis said.
“I didn’t think about it at the time, but it helped me get a political philosophy because I was exposed to leftist ideology. I’ve never been exposed to it.”
PRESIDENT REAGAN’S POWERFUL SPEECH WILL BE 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF EVIL EMPIRE
Kilmead addressed the question of March 8 as the 40th anniversary of former President Ronald Reagan’s “evil empire” speech and whether DeSantis believes that China today belongs to that “evil empire” category.
“China poses the most serious military, strategic and economic threat to us. We were closer to a nuclear war then because if you take one wrong step, both sides will be programmed and we will have mutually assured destruction that we will have to rely on to continue this, but in the Soviet Union they did not have much influence. . . on our society. They had a relatively weak economy,” DeSantis said. “You know, China – we have become economically dependent on them. They have great power.”
Senator Lindsey Graham, a member of the royal family, this week called for unleashing the “fury and power” of the United States on Mexican drug cartels.
DeSantis said America needs a border policy that is fully enforced and supported, designating Mexican cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.
“Anyone who doesn’t want to have full policy like Biden, people will be able to come, and we just can’t have that,” he said.
